Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Another fun-filled season is on its way at the Broyhill Crest Recreation Club (BCRC) — the neighborhood’s Fun Hub and Coolest Pool around. We invite you to join to find out for yourself. Conveniently located two blocks from Mason Crest Elementary School, just off Murray Lane, BCRC offers a summer-long vacation right in your backyard.
Cool off in our main pool. Splash in the wading pool with your toddlers and young ones. Hone your skills or just have fun on our basketball, pickle ball, table tennis, and sand volleyball — all of which are available on our beautiful, shaded grounds, where there is plenty of room to spread out. You can use our free Wi-Fi to fire up your laptops or tablets.
We also have a strong swim team that participates in NVSL (Northern Virginia Swim League). The Barracudas swim team helps kids become strong, healthy swimmers. Watch them experience the thrill of competition in a positive environment, while making friends of all ages. Bubbles, our early development swim team, as well as private swim lessons, will also be available.
There are lots of opportunities to connect with old friends and make new ones. Happy Hour Fridays are a strong BCRC tradition, as is the Summerfest, AKA Pig Roast, in July. We have float nights, complete with inflatable floats of all kinds from dragons and unicorns to pizza slices and pirates, and featuring snack bar favorites — ice cream floats and pizza.
Come experience the best street eats at our Friday Night food trucks, from May until October so you can enjoy a break from cooking before, during and after summer. Members with email can choose to get our periodic publication “Cool Pool News” to keepto keep current with upcoming pool-related information all season long, and you’ll love our latest pool-themed rhymes!
We’re also adding text messaging (SMS) capacity so you can be immediately notified when there’s an unexpected pool closing or a special event open to all members. We pledge to keep the messages at a minimum. If you wish to opt in to receive messages, please be sure to add your mobile phone number in the space provided on the registration form.
This year we have increased our rates slightly to help keep pace with inflation and pay for services previously performed by volunteers. We have added a service charge for credit card use, but we also plan to add ACH transfer capacity, similar to Zelle, for online purchases — a way to avoid credit card fees. Since the ACH direct payment option is not yet live, you can avoid the credit card fees by mailing a check to the Broyhill Crest Recreation Club, PO Box 196, Annandale, VA 22003.
