I honestly can’t believe the 2021 pool season (and summer for that matter) has come to an end already. It feels like just yesterday that we were at the pool preparing for opening day. Many of you may not realize that we prepare all year long in the off-season for the three months that the pool is open. Those were a glorious 100 days! We had record membership numbers in 2021 – nearly 300 families and 800 members – a testament to the faith and commitment of our neighbors and friends spreading the word that our pool is truly an oasis that is meant to be enjoyed. We were able to open on time and remain open the entire summer, despite lifeguard shortages. In short, we persevered as we did in 2020 but this summer felt even more “normal” for our members and guests – normal breaks, Friday night food trucks, Sunday dinners, float nights, picnics, Summerfest, several bingo nights, and the return of dog swim. We were able to gather together safely and enjoy the pool and its grounds, something we will never take for granted after having that threatened in 2020. Thanks to all of our volunteers throughout the summer – every extra set of hands helps and allows us to provide a robust social season for our members!
Our swim team boasted a record number of swimmers of all ages, and we were also able to provide a Bubbles program again this year to foster our youngest upcoming future Barracudas. The swim team finished with a 4-1 record placing second in Division 17 and brought home over 60 awards at the end of season divisional event. Most importantly, everyone had fun and enjoyed a return to normalcy with summer swim season!
We look to the future and hope to continue to grow in 2022 and beyond. As we prepare for large capital improvements including a pool house renovation, we hope that our members and friends will support us with time, money and/or and talents.
We are always looking for new Board members so please let us know if you have any interest. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM, at Mason Crest library between October and April and at the pool in our pavilion for the summer months.
We hope to see all of you return to our backyard oasis in 2022!
