CPN 6 – 4th of July Parade and Barracudas Win!

Well – it is hot, that’s for sure
And the pool, the perfect lure
For swimming and dunking
And running and jumping
Summer heat, it’s the perfect cure…

SATURDAY – JULY 3
If your kids plan to enter the decorated bike parade on July 4th, here’s a fun way to decorate! Show your red, white and blue pride… You can decorate your ‘rides’ at home, or bring your ‘ride’ to the pavilion at the pool any time from 1-4 pm on Saturday, July 3.  Bring any decorations you have, and we will also have some to choose from at the pavilion, along with plenty of tape!  Once decorated, you can leave your bike at the pool for the parade the next day. All ages and sized bikes/trikes/strollers welcome!

SUNDAY – JULY 4th
This is a pool and community tradition!  We open the pool to all the community for FREE from 12 noon-4 pm.  There is a decorated bike/trike/stroller parade at 1 pm, and assorted fun relays and water games following, ending with the famous ‘greased watermelon’ challenge. Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks are
available for purchase from 1-3 pm.  And the pool closes for all at 6 pm to allow everyone a chance to enjoy the evening festivities elsewhere. Last year did not happen, but we are planning to have it all happen this year.

Thank you to those who answered the call and signed up to volunteer, but there are still many open spots available. Go to broyhillcrestpool.net and click on Volunteer Today button. Bring friends and family to the pool from 12-4 pm, all are welcome.  And if someone asks you to help out on the day – just say YES!
The smiles of gratitude will make it all worth it!

ADULT SWIM
Every Sunday from 10-11am, the pool is open to adults only (18 and over) to enjoy swimming laps, general swimming, or simply relaxing on the deck with a paper or good book!  Another chance to mix and mingle with others! Glad to know this time is being enjoyed by many, and just fair warning that this Sunday there may be a little more action than usual due to set-up activities for July 4th festivities!

Congratulations
BCRC’s Barracudas won their second meet this past Saturday against the Edsall Park.

Hope to see you at the pool.
Happy 4th to all!
