| SATURDAY JULY 10 – Swim Meet, 9 am-12 noon This year the BC Barracudas boasts 100 members, including Bubbles! Our swim team competes every Saturday morning ending on July 24. The Barracudas practice 5 mornings a week, before the pool opens, rain or shine! Our oldest Barracudas are leaders in the community, teaching the Bubbles to swim, supporting new teammates, even coaching each other. Tuesdays and Thursdays are special stroke clinics, the only practices held during pool hours from 4-6 pm, using only half the pool. There are only 3 weeks left of the season, and currently our team is 3-0 – unbeaten! There is a HOME MEET this Saturday, July 10, so the pool will open to members at 12 noon. All are welcome to come up earlier and support this team and enjoy delicious concessions available at Kathy’s Korner. SUNDAY, JULY 11 – Adult Swim Pool is open from 10–11 am for Adult Swim – anyone 18 or over is welcome to swim laps, dive-in, or just enjoy the surroundings off deck with your coffee and paper! SUNDAY, JULY 11 – HO-HO-BINGO Bingo is back by popular demand! This month we take on a ‘Christmas in July’ spirit with Pizza and Ho-Ho-Bingo! Pizza available from 6 pm, and games begin at 6:30 pm. Everything is $1 – pizza by the slice, salad, dessert, and bingo cards. Plus, fabulous Holiday-Inspired prizes are waiting to be won! No reservations necessary – just be at Kathy’s Korner at 6 pm. MONDAY, JULY 12 Swim for the Green is a FUNdraiser for swim team. On Monday from 8.30-10.30 am, swimmers swim laps instead of having an official practice. This is a fundraiser for the swim team, and all swimmers are looking for sponsors to support them (maximum is 200 lengths). A few volunteers are required to act as counters, and any swim alumni (kids or parent volunteers from years passed) are welcomes to join in. Contact swim rep Kristan Gutowski at Gutkowskik@msn.com if you are interested in helping. MONDAY, JULY 12 – Pool Closes at 5 pm The swim team will be hosting a B Meet at the pool on Monday, July 12. The pool will close at 5 pm for members, and the swim meet will run 6 pm to closing time. We apologize for any inconvenience to members, but this is a chance for our Barracudas swim team to keep in top form and perhaps remain top of the division. Members are welcome to support the swimmers as spectators at the meet, and concessions (dinner!) will be available at Kathy’s Korner. MARK YOUR CALENDAR Sunday, July 18 – the ever-popular SHRIMP BOIL is BACK and will be the happening at the pool. More details next week but keep the date free – it’s fun and delicious!!
