| The pool is open and the weather is hot So there’s no better place to be Than enjoying the waters, with family and friends Broyhill Crest Pool is the best, we believe! Welcome to summer 2022. The pool opened last Saturday at 11 a.m., and for the second year running, Maia Sandoval-Moshenberg was the first kid in, and Debo Burk, the first brave adult! Congratulations to everyone who showed up to jump in at 11 a.m. Thank you to all, for your patience as we introduced you to the new membership sign-in system. Finally, we are in the 21st century. A round of applause to our pool clerk – Maria Ferrante – who worked for months to get MemberSplash up and running, and was at the pool everyday Opening Weekend overseeing its implementation. Also, a huge welcome to so many new members/families this year. It is great to have you join us. Because there are so many, we thought it timely to explain some of the RULES OF THE POOL: 1) Please, no food or drinks of the pool deck, including in the baby pool area. Water only is permitted. This is to keep the bees at bay, and it also a county rule. You may eat anywhere outside the fence line to the pool. Kathy’s Korner (the area where they snack bar is located) has tables and chairs aplenty. Or take the path down towards the pavilion and you’ll find plenty of eating areas around. Tables in the pavilion can be used, unless pavilion has been booked for a private event. Also, there are several tables on the grass behind the deep end of the pool. 2) No running on the pool deck. You may hear the guards blow the whistle to stop little members running! This is for their safety and all around them. We must be courteous to young and old alike, and don’t want anyone falling, or causing someone else to fall. 3) Please keep out of the lap lane if you are just enjoy the general swim area. The lap lane is kept open for any members who wish to swim uninterrupted! There is a sign up board for lap times on the table outside the guards office. More explanations next week! This is just a start. No-one is in trouble if you are unaware of the rules – but we just want to make your visit as enjoyable as possible! FIRST HAPPY HOUR OF 2022 Every Friday, we welcome pool members to Happy Hour from 6 p.m. If you choose to order dinner from the Food Truck, come on in afterwards and enjoy dinner ‘al fresco’ with friends and family. Or bring your own dinner and snacks. All welcome – enjoy an evening with friends and neighbors – and meet new people! We gather at Kathy’s Korner. Beverages can be enjoyed – but please – NO GLASS CONTAINERS. No bottles or glasses. Think ‘outside the box’ – coffee cups are not just for coffee….. 🙂 Help Speed Up the Check-In Process! Upload Your Photos to Your Membership Account You can do this on your computer or from your phone. Here are the simple steps: 1) Go to broyhillcrest.membersplash.com and login to your account 2) Click “edit” next to the name of the member you would like to add a photo 3) Click “Upload image” in the large gray circle in the individuals record 4) Navigate to the image on your phone or computer you would like to upload, adjust picture and then click green “Save Changes” button SWIM TEAM – GO BARRACUDAS! Our pool has a wonderfully energetic and growing swim team, that provides activity, competition and lifelong friendships. The swim season is just 6-weeks and we need to accommodate the kids, with their practice requirements. Please understand and support them. If you would like information about swim team, or want to volunteer to help, contact information is available on the website broyhillcrestpool.net From now until June 10th – Monday-Friday, two (2) swim lanes will be used for swim team practices 5pm-7:15pm. From June 14th – July 21st, two (2) swim lanes will be used every Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm-5:30pm. All other practices take place before the pool opens at 11 a.m. . At all times, a lap lane will be available to those wanting to swim for exercise – even during these swim team sessions. We try to please everyone!
