CPN 4 — Opening Weekend is Finally Here!

Opening Weekend is Coming
Time to Celebrate with Family and Friends

It’s almost here – that’s Opening Day
For fun and sun at the Pool
Can’t wait to see you all really soon
Where the people (and the water) are Cool….(after all this rain!)

Please read the following carefully
There’s things you need to know
And pack your patience as we start a new system
Please read “Know before you Go” – below…

First things first, a big thank you to all who showed up for the two work days. It was a very impressive turnout, and the pool was absolutely sparkling last Saturday. Every table, chair and umbrella was scrubbed, and the grounds were pristine. Just a pity Mother Nature decided to challenge us the next day…but we’ll be ready…

OPENING DAY – SATURDAY May 28, 11am

Who will be first in the water? The opening whistle will blow at 11am. Pool will remain open until 9pm.

PLEASE PACK YOUR PATIENCE when arriving at the pool this weekend. We have a new online membership system, and check-in and other actions taken at the front desk will be DIFFERENT. It is new to everyone. There may be glitches, and things may take a while longer, but the pool will be waiting for you on the other side. Please practice kindness..

Also, there will be NO cash accepted at the front desk — membership and guest passes can be purchased online or by check ONLY. Please read the information below — your Board has been working very hard on these changes, and Maria Ferrante, our membership ‘madam’ and pool clerk, has dedicated many hours to making this change — please understand if things take a little longer for a couple of weeks…

Know Before You Go
Our new online membership system means a new front desk check-in process!
Here are a few things to know before you head to the pool Opening Day:
• We will check your family into the pool using our new front desk computer system. All you will need to provide is the last name of the primary member and we will find your family in our system.
• Guest passes are also handled online – and you can even check how many passes you have available by going to your online account (the account you created when you joined the pool).
• Cash will no longer be accepted at the front desk. If you would like to pay for guest passes or join the pool, we strongly recommend you use our online system before you head to the pool. You can go to our website or directly to broyhillcrest.membersplash.com to join.
• Once you join online, you can pay with your credit card – or you can pay by check (made out to BCRC). If paying by check, you can either mail your check (BCRC, PO Box 196, Annandale, VA 22003) or bring your check to the front desk. When either mailing or bringing a check to the pool, if possible, please include a printout of the invoice that is emailed to you with your check.
• To purchase guest passes, please either purchase online before heading to the pool, or bring a check (made out to BCRC) to the pool for the exact amount. Guest passes are $7 each and sold in groups of 5 – so 5 for $35 or 10 for $70. All guest passes must be purchased in advance and all guests must be accompanied by a member.
• You can use up to 10 Guest Passes at one time without a party reservation. If you have a group larger than 10 at one time, please use our party reservation system on our website (even if you are not reserving the pavilion). The safety of our members and guests is our number one concern. Knowing when we have larger parties at our pool will help ensure we are staffed correctly so that everyone is safe and has a great time!
• If you have any issues with our new online, membership system, please email broyhillcrestmembership@gmail.com and Maria Ferrante will help you out!

OPENING DAY PICNIC – Saturday May 28, 5pm-7pm (rain date is Sunday May 29, 5pm-7pm)
The Opening Day picnic is FREE to all members – food will be served in the pavilion from 5-7pm. Get your traditional summer BBQ – hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, chips and a cold drink.

Sounds delicious right? Well – there’s an issue…. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS – or there will be no cooked food… uncooked burgers and cold hot dogs…Check the website (broyhillcrestpool.net) and sign up – we need two people to grill, three more to set-up, two-to-three to serve, and two-to-three to clean-up, or this picnic will not happen.

The food has been purchased, we just need man/womanpower to volunteer – and the tried and true gang of those that always volunteer are aging out…
Please don’t leave it up to “someone else” – BE THAT SOMEONE. Volunteering is good for the soul.

POOL HOURS
Once the pool opens, the hours are Monday-Friday – 1pm-9pm until June 9. From June 10, (when school is out), hours are 11am-9pm daily.
Weekend hours are always 11am-9pm.

See you soon – and looking forward to it!
